“American Nightmare” rapist pleaded guilty to additional charges

Matthew Muller was the convicted snare who portrayed the crime in the Netflix documentary “American Nightmare,” and pleaded guilty to an additional 32-year-old’s temptation and sexual assault on Wednesday, according to the Sacramento County Law Office.

In 1993, 16-year-old Muller won a couple at the muzzle while camping at Lake Folsom in the Sierra Nevada hills. Muller then tied up the male victim, carrying it away and continuing to sexually assault the female victim, according to a news release from the district attorney.

The Science and Technology Unit, a cold case for the district attorney, was “instrumental” in revealing additional evidence in the case, the news release added.

The latest conviction is part of a series of similar sexual offences committed by Muller, who is currently serving a 40-year sentence for 2015 lunatics and sexual assault in Valleyho, California, and sentences him to a life sentence for 2009 lunatics and assault in Santa Clara. The crime in 2015 and subsequent flawed investigations were the subject of “American Nightmare,” which premiered last year.

Muller was sentenced to 11 years in life in prison for his latest conviction. This sentence is provided consecutively with his other sentences.

In 2015, Muller broke into Vallejo’s house and tied up couples, Aaron Quinn and Denise Huskins, with drugs. Muller then lured Haskin in Quinn’s car and hugged her for three days in the family shed on Lake Tahoe. Muller sexually assaulted Haskins until he finally released her in Huntington Beach.

Haskins has been accused of Vallejo police and FBI officials of manufacturing her charges before more Muller’s crimes were revealed. Haskins and Quinn were treated as suspects until an attempt to break into a home in Dublin, California revealed Mueller as the perpetrator.

“We knew there was more to this from the start, and obviously how things were handled from the start led to a lot of errors,” Haskins told The Times earlier this year.

According to court documents, Muller turned the victims into drugs with a cocktail of “Diazepam and Nikil bottles” and threatened them with violence if they didn’t follow them. According to court documents, after the 1993 muzzle lure, Mueller’s tactics became apparently refined.

Muller, a Harvard-educated immigration lawyer and former Marine, admitted to committing to crimes in law enforcement in 1993, the news release said.

“This case is a powerful reminder that the pursuit of justice will never end. Matthew Muller accepts the terrifying induction and acceptance of sexual assault by a young girl in 1993. Ati. Tien Ho said in the release.
