Former Democrat Rep. Katie Porter announced her bid for the California governor on Tuesday via an Instagram video that Golden State “needs a little hope, a lot of fresh blood and new ideas.” [and] A leader with a backbone to fight for the right thing. ”
Porter, 51, served three terms in Congress. In 2018, he upset GOP Congressman Mimi Walters and won an Orange County seat.
The former lawmaker was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and grew up on a farm before moving to the Pacific coast.
Gov. Gavin Newsom is limited in terms of time, but all eyes in California are about whether former Vice President Kamala Harris will also jump into the race.

Porter told the Los Angeles Times that Harris’ bid could clear the left flanks of people assembled so far.
“If Vice President Harris chooses to run, I’m sure it will have the effect of exempting fields that are closer to the democratic side,” Porter said.
Harris is said to be seriously considering his run in Sacramento after losing the 2024 presidential election. A source close to Harris previously told the allies that Fox News Digital The Ex-Veep would decide whether to launch a governor’s campaign by the end of the summer.
The Times also described Porter as a prolific fundraiser, but the sociable nature of the former Congressman was predicted to invade among Californians in President Donald Trump’s election.
In her announcement, Porter mentioned Trump, claiming that he would try to enrich himself and his circle while he was in the White House.
California has a unique “jungle primary” system in which two top voters face off, regardless of party. In November, two Democrats may compete. In Schiff’s case, former MLB star Steve Garvey gained enough Republican support to challenge Burbank Democrats.
Porter’s entry brings her colorful history in the House of Representatives.
Sasha Georgiades, a fellow injured warrior who worked in Porter’s office, claimed she made rude and racist comments to staff and “rid laughing at people to report sexual harassment.”

Georgiades also said that Porter ridiculed people after reporting sexual harassment in her office and then reported that “parents made fun of an individual who died from covid.”
“I basically told you to grow into an individual,” Georgiades said of a case of staff reporting sexual harassment in Porter’s office.
Also, in the second half of 2022, reports surfaced that Porter “made multiple staff members cry,” and one staff member was allegedly fired after she and lawmakers caught Covid-19.
“Sasha – I cannot return to the office given that I did not follow the policy of the office,” Porter was shared on July 9th on the “Dear White Staffers” X page, written in a text previously reported by Fox News Digital.
“Cody will contact you about shipping or delivering your personal impact to your home and lay out your remote work schedule and responsibilities for the past few weeks.”

Porter reportedly reportedly denied the claim at the time.
Porter also wore a “Batgirl” outfit in the House of Representatives, but lawmakers had voted for Trump’s first round of October 31, 2019, for Halloween.
Other top names include Democrats’ Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaligoza and Riverside County Sheriff Lt. Col. Chad Bianco, who is the first major Republican, totaling as a dozen or so candidates.
When it reached for comments, the Porter Campaign turned Fox News Digital to an earlier statement on the issue.
