The 18-year-old suspect was arrested after it was discovered that a woman was shot dead in her car in Anaheim.
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Jerry Gutierrez of Gadahi, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
On March 4, police responded to a crash in the 700 block of North Vine Street around 8pm, and officers arrived who found that 48-year-old Charlenes Azo, 48, of Anaheim, was injured by a bullet inside the car. She was declared dead at the scene.
Police were also responding to gunshots heard near Vine Street and Cypress Street, about half a mile from where the crash fell. Officials found evidence that the shooting had just happened, but no suspects were found nearby.
Investigators later determined that the two cases were related. After the woman was shot and killed, she is believed to have continued driving before crashing into a parked car.
Following the investigation, the murder detective identified Gutierrez as the suspect.

On March 7th, he was arrested and arrested for murder. The case will be filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for the prosecutor.
As the case is under investigation, no further details were released, including motives or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
