Following a horrifying on-field medical event during Friday night’s game, the younger players say they’re “responsive and have received further reviews,” according to Angel City FC.
Sabi King, 20, who played high school soccer at Agoura High School in his hometown of the Los Angeles area, fell in the 74th minute of an Angel City match against Utah Royals FC at BMO Stadium.
It is not yet clear why she collapsed, but Fox News reports that it appears that CPR is being administered and AEDs have been used. About ten minutes later, King extended off the pitch.
The team later said in a statement that King was taken to a local hospital where she was responding. Her exact condition has not been revealed.
