The Autozone in South Los Angeles broke early Saturday morning when the street acquisition was reported, police said.
The incident continued two similar invasions earlier this week, taking place last month at Southla Autozones, where crowds plundered shops during the acquisition of nearby streets.
In the latest incident that occurred around 1:30am on Saturday, police received a call saying dozens of cars were burning out while dozens of people watched while dozens of Boulevards and Central Avenue were burning out, said Jeff Lee, LAPD spokesperson.
Around the same time, I got a call to report people who had broken into the Autozone near the intersection. The caller said at least some men were wearing ski masks, they came from the street takeover crowd, and as many as 50 people were taking items inside the store, Lee said.
Lee said police responded to the blocked intersection and Autozone incident, causing the crowd to flee.
Lee said there were no arrests for the Autozone robbery and he had no information regarding damages to the store or what was filmed. Lee said there were no reports of arrests during the street acquisition.
He said detectives are investigating the robbery and will review surveillance and social media footage.
