A few weeks after the intruder broke into the apartment before the intruder killed the residents, another intruder in the Valley Village unleashed the neighbor.
The latest incident occurred Thursday morning when a naked man sat down and entered a house on Otzego Street.
“All of a sudden I looked up, and there was a man in my dining room, probably about 10 feet away from me,” said the homeowner, who only identified as “Amy.” “I’m taking off my clothes from my waist, masturbating, staring at me.”
She said the man entered through an unlocked backdoor and stood close to her while she fell asleep on the couch. As soon as she saw the man, Amy said she screamed, then grabbed the dog and the phone and ran down the street.
“I kept looking at the house. He didn’t leave,” she said. She called 911 and explained that she was hiding in the bushes.
This is at least the second incident in weeks in the Valley Village community where intruders illegally enter their homes.
Police say last month, a 27-year-old man was arrested for the murder of 53-year-old Menashe Hydra.
“It’s really scary because it can happen to any of us,” said Bethany Soves, a neighbor who lives on the block away from Amy. “I know our neighbors have had a few breaks recently.
The man found naked inside Amy’s house was taken to assess his mental health, LAPD said. However, according to the residents, the responding officer told her that she left the door on her back unlocked.
