Amid a wave of violence against Tesla vehicles, showrooms and charging stations, rebel protesters were able to see their biggest power show as a decentralized move known as the Tesla Takedown is planning a “global day of protest” where more than 500 Tesla locations around the world.
The protest scheduled for Saturday was driven by actors, filmmakers, congressmen, academics and activists who led last week’s “massive mobilization call” to drum up support. More than 275 Tesla locations in the US and more than 500 locations around the world will be targeted as part of this effort.
While protests against Elon Musk and Tesla have recently been involved in destructive tactics, leaders who have been promoting Saturday’s events, such as progressive D-Texas MP Jasmine Crockett, have said the protest will be “non-violent.”

“We’re fighting for our country,” Crockett said at last week’s call to popular mobilization. “We’re fighting for democracy. We’re fighting for freedom. And when I say the fight, I’m figurative. Clearly, everything I’m promoting is non-violent.”

The FBI announced the creation of a new task force on Monday, set up to “crash against violent Tesla attacks,” which the president and other members of the Trump administration described as “domestic terrorism.”
The violent incidents targeting Musk and Tesla ranged from alleged Molotov cocktail attacks on Tesla properties in several states to attacks on individual citizens who own Tesla.
A Las Vegas area resident was arrested Wednesday for his alleged portion of Molotov cocktail attack on Tesla’s property. The suspect is facing multiple felony charges, including three counts of arson, three counts of arson, five counts of shooting into a car with three counts of explosive devices and four counts of personal property, according to local police.

While there are no centralized groups leading this massive protest event, local and national advocacy groups such as Indivisible, a progressive anti-Trump advocacy group, are supporting the organization’s efforts.
“The indivisible group is people who are peaceful protesting on the sidewalks rather than hurting cars, and they are speaking out because they are worried about our country,” the indivisible spokesman told Fox News Digital. The group confirmed that it was not directly involved in funding or organizational efforts, but that the local chapter was involved in the event.

In response to the planned protest, Pro Trump supporters reportedly began mobilizing to counter the rebel message.
In New Jersey, Pro Trump organizer Terry Beck is trying to rally a caravan of Trump supporters to counter one of the rebel protests he planned Saturday near Trenton, according to NBC News. Social media posts show that others across the country are also trying to mobilize counterproteters.
