Colorado lawmakers spent hours Friday afternoon considering a Democratic-led resolution denounced President Donald Trump’s January 6 prisoner pardon, but the state estimates for 2025-26. It is tackling a $1.2 billion budget shortfall.
“Instead of the vast majority addressing Coloradan’s real concerns, as surge in costs, a billion dollar deficit, a rise in crime and an affordable crisis pushes families to the brink of throne, the majority have a meaningless partisan resolution It’s scary to have a focus on passing through,” Republican minority leader Rep. Rose Puglise told Fox News Digital in a statement.
Pugliese called the solution a “political theatre” and “dividing it, not bringing consequences to our community.”
The measure was passed by a 41-23 vote in the Democratic-controlled state House of Representatives. Democrat Lisa Ferrett voted against the resolution.

Republicans who spent time providing public comments on the bill also turned their chairs to turn from Congressional chair during the hearing. Lawmakers tried to introduce some amendments to the resolution to change some of the phrasing used in the bill, but they were rejected.
“To hell with your concerns about the cost of living, crime and other important issues,” Republican Rep. Jervis Caldwell wrote X: We’ll discuss that. ”
State Republican Rep. Ryan Gonzalez also posted on X, “The majority of people are *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly *indirectly by the president sitting in his place, instead of addressing the issues voters have sent us. “We will pass a message like this.”
He posted on his Colorado House GOP X account that “one life in Colorado will not be saved by this resolution.”
Another X-Post states, “Democrats may be working on a real solution to their $1 billion budget deficit. Instead, they’re playing a political game.”
Rep. Lauren Bebert, a Republican who represents Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District in his US home, tweeted, “Will Colorado Dem reduce the cost of eggs playing partisan politics?”
The measure, sponsored by state Democrats Nick Hinrichsen and Matt Ball, passed along the state Senate party line with 21-12 votes earlier this month. Democrats condemned Trump’s pardon and mass shootings, an FBI agent assigned to investigate the Capitol riots on January 6th.
Democrats representatives Sean Camacho and Michael Carter were sponsors of the Statehouse version.
“Colorado House Republicans have begun full defense of the rioters on January 6th,” Democrat Stephen Woodrow said of Bluesky Social, a social media platform like X supported by Progressive. I am writing. “They can turn their backs on America, but we see them and know the truth.”

Democrat state Rep. Lorena Garcia also wrote about Bruski Social: “While this resolution is passed, today is a wake-up call for all Coloradans who believe in freedom. The Republicans are not a party that believes in freedom. It is an authoritarian party, that is a party of fascism.”
The defendant on January 6th (over 1,500 people) was forgiven by Trump as one of his first enforcement actions in January.
