Apple Store and other downtown Los Angeles businesses were looted and damaged after largely peaceful protests changed on the evening of the day that erupted Monday evening amid the fourth day demonstrations over the immigration enforcement raid.
The windows were stolen, several items were stolen, and graffiti was painted on the windows. The looters also targeted adidas stores, pharmacies, marijuana clinics and other locations.
The video also showed damaged jewelry stores with items removed from the shelves.
Chris Miller, a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, told City News Service that one woman was arrested at the scene of an Apple Store robbery. At least two other people were seen being detained by police for looting.
It was unclear exactly how many arrests were made in connection with Monday’s violence after dozens of arrests by various law enforcement over the weekend. LAPD said one arrested 21 people against the officers on suspicion of attempted murder, where an officer allegedly used Molotov cocktails.
LAPD chief Jim McDonnell said people also oversee commercial grade fireworks to executives.
At least 50 arrests were reported over the weekend.
Blair Besten, executive director of the historic Core Business Improvement District, said the organization is seeking a curfew and the presence of the National Guard in the area.
The prosecutor’s team at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will review arrest reports and look into social media posts to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
Local governments have repeatedly condemned the existence of “agitators” who use political protests for criminal purposes.

Early on Monday, a large crowd gathered at Gloria Molina Grand Park for a peaceful demonstration. Some participants gathered last week to support California union leaders who were accused of Ice Raid protests.
As the night fell, the group clashed with police on a stretch on Los Angeles Street, south of the 101 Highway. Some people threw fireworks and other objects in law enforcement, and authorities responded with tear gas and other less lethal ammunition.
Most of the crowd had left the street by early Tuesday morning.
About 300 Federal National Guard members were deployed on federal property in Los Angeles, including the Downtown Lattropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. McDonnell said that LAPD has had a very good relationship with the National Guard, working closely for several months during the Palisade fire that fired on January 7th.
Earlier this week, more National Guard troops and about 700 Marines were revitalized by the federal government. A Marine battalion deployed in Los Angeles was there on Tuesday and ready to respond, Marine Commander General Eric Smith said at a budget hearing before the senator.
The Marines receive orders from the US Northern Command, but Smith reveals that they have not yet been called to respond. Marines are trained to control the crowd and will carry shields and batons, Smith said.
He repeated that they had no right to arrest and were there just to protect federal property and personnel.
