Archbishop Jose H. Gomez will host the Thanksgiving public at the Cathedral of the Angels on Friday to celebrate Pope Leo XIV’s election.

Archbishop Gomez spoke on Thursday about Pope Leo XIV’s election and his history in Latin America.
“He knows Latin America, which is very important to all of us in Los Angeles,” Archbishop Gomez said. “It’s a beautiful day in the lives of the Catholic Church and in the lives of everyone on earth.”
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles posted on social media, “La Catholics thank Pope Leo XIV for their gratitude to God.”
