An Irvine man, 54, has been arrested and faces charges in connection with a road rage-related hate crime, and investigators believe there may be additional victims, officials said Thursday.
Irvine police said the attack, which was allegedly unfolded around 9:30 a.m. on Sand Canyon Avenue near the Interstate, at about 9:30 a.m. on July 22, was about 9:30 a.m., on the other hand, on the attack.

After passing the initial argument, Tackett followed the victim, aggressively moving into his lane multiple times, causing several collisions.

“Tuckett shouted racial slander at the victim before drinking hot coffee in the victim’s car,” the release said. “The liquid landed on the victim’s face, hands and inside his car.”

Most of the horrifying interactions were filmed by the victims, and later the family posted footage on social media, reporting the incident to Irvine police on Wednesday night.
“Today, around 2:30pm, Tackett was taken into custody for a hate crime and aggravated assault,” the investigator said.
KTLA has not previously been able to find footage of the incident posted on social media.
Authorities believe there may be an additional 54-year-old victim and others who may have witnessed the latest incident. Anyone with additional information or footage of the alleged crime can email rteen@cityofirvine.org.
