As lawmakers left Washington for a month-long break, more than 150 candidates for President Donald Trump remained, waiting for confirmation or further action by the Senate to halt procedures and shaking partisanship.

The key position of Trump’s administration as a whole has been left unreclamated, with the judiciary and diplomat posts taking the brunt of the backlog.

Tune vows to “smash” Democrats as Trump’s candidates face “unprecedented “Senate Closure”

Former national security adviser Mike Waltz is still waiting for the Senate to confirm his appointment as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Similarly, Andrew Puzder has not yet been confirmed as a particularly important post, US ambassador, given that the EU is one of the largest trading partners in the United States.

At the Justice Department, Stanley Woodward has been appointed to serve as deputy attorney general, while Patrick Davis is waiting for confirmation as Attorney General on legislative matters.

The appointments of several attorneys from the US law firms in Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Pennsylvania and South Dakota are pending confirmation.

Dems digs, Trump demands everything: Candidate fight boils in the Senate

Council left town on Saturday after checking only a few candidates.

Former Fox News host, New York judge and prosecutor Janine Piro, was quickly confirmed on Saturday with seven Trump candidates.

Pirro was confirmed as DCUS lawyer amid partisan clashes as DEM nomination lockdown continued

Pirro’s confirmation as a US lawyer for DC is due to dozens of interim prosecutors lined up who approached Trump’s judicial agenda at the end of the 120-day term limit. Subsequently, if no Senate-approved successors are in effect, appointments to these important roles will be transferred to the court.

After the collapse of the bipartisan talks on Saturday, Republican Senate Majority Leader John Tune described the confirmation process as “broken,” emphasising that Senate rules governing the nominations “deeply need change.”

Meanwhile, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said changes to the rules would be a “big mistake” in speeding up the pace of confirmation.

He added that lawmakers “never been deemed as unqualified as we now have, or as flawed as compromised.”
