Gwyneth Paltrow landed an astonishing new gig.
On July 25, astronomers revealed in a video shared on social media that the actor and the founder of Goop were “temporary spokesmen.” Debuting in a new role at a data operation company, Paltrow answered the most talked about questions on the internet.
The actor appreciates his interest in astronomers and starts by saying that he is “very temporarily employed to speak on behalf of over 300 employees” in the company.
“Astronomers have been asking a lot of questions over the past few days. They wanted me to answer the most common,” she continues.
“OMG! Actual f,” reads before Paltrow screams at her answer.
“Yes, astronomers are the perfect place to run Apache Airflow. They integrate the experience of running data, ML, and AI pipelines at scale. People with a renewed interest in automating data workflows are very excited,” she replies. “About other questions we received…”
The second question appears on the screen, saying, “What about the social media team…”
Again, Paltrow replies with, “Yes, there is still space available for the Beyond Analytics event in September.”
Paltrow continues. “We’re back to what we do best now. We’ll provide our customers with game-changing outcomes. We appreciate your interest in astronomers.”
The video comes after the company makes headlines after two employees resigned. On July 19, astronomers confirmed that CEO Andy Byron had resigned from his position following a viral video of the Cold Play concert.
Additionally, the company’s chief talent officer, Christine Cabot, has also left her position, the data management company confirmed on July 24th to Today.com.
Byron and Cabot did not respond to NBC News’ requests for comment.
Byron was identified by social media users as one of the people in the viral video for the July 16th Cold Play Concert Kiss Cam. The clip shows the two of them hugging after suddenly hiding from the camera.
Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and Paltrow’s ex-husband — joked, “They’re either cheating or very shy.” That moment quickly went viral.
In a video posted to social media from Saturday’s concert, singer Chris Martin didn’t directly address the moment that went viral online.
After Byron’s resignation, Pete DeJoy was announced as interim CEO of astronomers. Without mentioning the viral video, Dejoy issued a statement on LinkedIn about the “unusual and surreal” attention of the company that had been attracting the “unusual and surreal” attention.
In his statement, he said, “I didn’t want it to happen like this, but astronomers are now famous names.”
Meanwhile, people in the comments section of the astronomer’s video with Paltrow praised the company for its creativity.
“Gwyneth Paltrow is Chris Martin’s ex-wife. 10/10 PR move,” one person wrote, but another added, “I’m crazy to take Chris Martin’s ex.”
