On Wednesday, the Atlantic released what was described as an “attack plan” at the heart of a signal text chain leak involving senior Trump administration officials.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegses and national security adviser Mike Waltz are facing calls to step down following a revelation that outlet editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a private group chat earlier this month. Hegseth says, “No one had texted the war plan.”
“Team Update: Time (1144et): The weather is good. Just confirmed on St.com. We are Go for the launch of the mission. 12150: F-18s (1st Strike package). Released Wednesday by the Atlantic.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budwich said, “The Atlantic has already abandoned their bulls – abandoning the story of “war planning” and when releasing the full chat, they have admitted that Americans will perpetuate yet another hoax.
