The woman brutally attacked by a suspect allegedly transitional in Los Angeles’ Los Ferris area, is asking city officials to do more to keep residents safe.
The violence unfolded when 52-year-old Donna DeCristoffer was back home on June 18th from running what she described as a normally safe and walkable area near her Sunset Drive residence.
The 52-year-old believes she found a homeless man she saw in the area and lives in an encampment not too far from Thomas Star King Middle School.
She says a man called a Hispanic man in his 20s ran over to her and punched her face at least three times before he became unconscious.

The 52-year-old said she suffered from a concussion, a broken nose, complications in her eyes and psychological street complications from a traumatic attack, but she said she could have been hit again while she was on the ground and had a blackout.
Two brothers reported deaths from a California highway were overlooked.
Luckily, a good Samaritan came to help her, witnessing what had happened.
The 52-year-old is now urging police departments, district attorneys and city leaders to do more to prevent these attacks, especially as they have children in areas where they attend nearby middle schools.
“I know there’s a lot going on right now, but this shouldn’t go through the crack,” DeCristoffer told KTLA News. “If this happened to me, I’m the vocalist. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Who else did he attack him for hurting it?
Councillor Nithya Raman, who represents DeChristopher’s district, issued the following statement:
“Our work has produced results, including a 40% drop in the number of people living on the streets of our district last year, but there is a lot more to be done.
A few days after she was attacked, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested a homeless man believed to be DeCristopher’s attacker.
The man had a previous warrant for his arrest and is currently in custody without bail.
KTLA contacted the District Attorney’s Office to confirm, asking if the arrest was related to DeCristoffer’s attack and if so, if so, if so, if it was possible he would face it.
