Bad Bunny has become political in the music video for his song “Nuevayor.” This is translated into New York in English.
The Global Sensation video will be released on July 4th to celebrate Latin culture, but will also issue a political statement about the Trump administration’s immigration policy.
One of the most memorable moments is when the singer stands above the Statue of Liberty and shows off the Puerto Rican flag on the statue’s forehead.
Another moment that ends the video is the end of the video when a voice that sounds like President Donald Trump crackles on a vintage radio sitting on a table surrounded by four men.
“I made a mistake. I want to apologise to the American immigrants. I mean the United States,” the message said. “I know America is the whole continent. I want to say that this country is nothing without immigration. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans.”
The radio then quickly turns off and the man leaves the table.
It is unclear whether the AI or voice actor was used to mimic the president’s distinctive voice, but the statement revealed the singer’s message.
At the end of the Renell Medrano-Directed video, the screen turns black and the words “Juntos Somos Más Fuertes” appear.
