The bobcat discovered he was dehydrated and burned on four legs during the Eton fire in January, authorities recently said.
The female bobcat was found in Sierra Madre as a fatal and destructive wildfire infuriated the hillside and nearby communities.
“Our veterinarian and wildlife team cared for her over the next few weeks, regularly altered her leg bandages (under sedation) and nursed her healthy,” a Facebook post by Pasadena Human said last week.
Staff kept treatment and minimal contact with the injured animal while maintaining treatment and healing the wound.

“We are extremely proud of our staff who provided top-notch care while keeping the wildlife wild,” the post read.
After demonstrating the ability to walk comfortably without bandages, the bobcat was placed in a California wildlife center, where he continued his recovery in outdoor space before being returned to the wild.
“The Eton Fire has had a devastating impact on wildlife, but being part of their recovery gives us hope for the future of our local ecosystem,” Pasadena Humans said.
