The seawater closure of the beach from Malibu to Santa Monica was closed after being fired Tuesday, lifted Tuesday and replaced with a less restrictive water consultation.
Testing of saltwater samples collected at various locations on Jan. 22 and Jan. 27th, was a risk-free response to human health and prompted the lifting of the closure order, according to the county public health department.
Beaches from Las Flores Province Beach in Malibu and Santa Monica State Beach “are predicted rain, and could enter coastal water through surface water runoff and wind-blowed ashes. ” remains under the seawater advisory.
“Beach fans may recreate the sand, but they continue to be advised to stay away from the seawater from fire debris during posted ocean advice,” according to the county. “This is especially important near the discharge of storm drains, streams, rivers and damaged ocean front properties of fires.”
The previous seawater advisory, located between Sulfrieder Beach and Los Flores State Beach and located between Santa Monica State Beach and Dockweiler State Beach in Playa Deirei, has been lifted.
But future storms could urge updated warnings against entering the seawater due to contaminated spills.
