I-Vt. Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared on the Coachella scene on Saturday, sending President Donald Trump and the “billionaire” to spectators at the spectacular music festival.
A self-proclaimed democratic socialist, Sanders introduced Clairo’s performance and praised the 26-year-old artist. “Now we’ve got the President of the United States…” Sanders continued as the crowd booed.
“I’m old,” Sanders said of his opposition to President Donald Trump.
“He thinks climate change is a hoax. He’s dangerously wrong,” Sanders said. “You and I need to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and tell them to stop destroying this planet.”
“In Florida, where Maxwell came from, not California, but Vermont, where I came from, in many other states, politicians are trying to take away women’s rights to control their bodies,” Sanders continued. “We need you to stand up and fight for women’s rights. Today we have an economy that works very well for a class of billionaires, but not for working families. We need to help create an economy that works well for everyone, not just for 1%. We have a broken health system.
Sanders said he was there because the artist “supports her prominently to fight for women’s rights” in an attempt to end the horrific and brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are being killed.

Sanders posted on X about his introduction to Krera, saying, “These are difficult times. Young people must lead the fight against climate change, protect women’s rights, and build an economy that works for everyone, not just for the minority.”

Sanders traveled to the music festival after appearing with fellow Dn.Y.’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the “Fighting Olgalicie” event in Los Angeles.
