Annie Tomasini, former assistant to President Joe Biden and former vice chief of staff, is the latest Biden aide summoned by the House Oversight Committee.
Tomasini’s lawyers have requested that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Kommer (R-KY.) be issued a subpoena for a scheduled appearance before a staff-led hearing this Friday.
Her former colleague, Anthony Bernal, former chief of staff for former First Lady Jill Biden, was attacked by his own subpoena on Wednesday for a closure visit after skipping an interview scheduled for when the White House waived executive privileges.
However, Bernal’s scheduled sit-ins quickly moved back and forth. Bernal appears to have clearly acknowledged the fifth amendment to questions asked by house staff, according to sources familiar with Fox News Digital.

CNN’s anchor Jakkapper and Axios political correspondent Alex Thompson revealed Tomasini and Bernal in “Original Sing” and “Original Sing.”

According to the book, Tomasini and Bernal pulled out the teleprompter as Biden struggled to maintain his message and his entourage was trying to ease his mistakes. But the teleprompter’s fiasco has become an easy offensive line through Biden’s reelection campaign, as President Donald Trump “weaves” his countless unportraited moments.

The book explained that Tomasini and Bernal approached Biden during the pandemic and eventually became Joe and Jill Biden’s most trusted aides.
Tupper and Thompson describe “fierce and loyal” duo Tomasini and Vernal as taking on the “brother and thin sister vibe” within Biden’s inner circle.

Bernal and Tomasini later took on some of the roles of resident staff at the White House. Tupper and Thompson said the aides had “the White House badge read “res” and had the highest access ever to the residential district, something unusual for such aides.”
“The importance of Bernal and Tomasini is the extent to which their rise at the Biden White House informed the success of those who are loyal to the Biden family.
Fox News Digital reported in 2023 that Tomasini was one of Biden’s aides and members of the Cabinet, and had extensive ties with Hunter Biden.
The analysis revealed the extent to which Hunter’s range was in the White House ahead of his eldest son’s felony gun charges and subsequent pardons by his father on President Biden’s last day.

According to emails from 2010 to 2016, Tomasini frequently communicated with Hunter, calling him “brother” and ended the email with “Ly” on “Love You.”
Then President Biden resigned on December 20, 2010 to take a job with Harvard, and Tomasini publicly announced that he would continue to lock Hunter into the details of his position before taking the email. In the month before November 19, 2010, she forwarded information about Harvard employees’ benefits to Hunter, adding, “Thank you.”
“Hey – I see the profits, they look pretty amazing. Are there any comp words?” Hunter responded on November 23, 2010.
“I will continue to post you. Thank you for watching all the background hunts,” replied Tomasini.
On November 30, 2010, Tomasini was “Director of Intergovernmental Relations.”

She later thanked him and said she was going to tell her father the news. A few months later, Hunter gave a speech at Harvard, but before he first ran the Tomasini draft, he gave a speech.
Sources familiar with the thoughts of the Biden team told Fox News Digital that Trump would stop without stopping for accurate retaliation, calling for an investigation into Biden’s autopen, slandering political opponents and using conspiratorial claims to revoke effective presidential actions.
“As an extension of this political convention, Congressional Republicans are following their leaders by dragging civil servants down the hill,” the source said, calling the “dangerous” investigation “an attempt to smear and embarrass him” and “a coordinated partisan effort.”
They said the investigation “doesn’t make a difference” because Trump’s Justice Department is “not normal” and “these days are not normal.”
