Biden expected to pardon pro-life activists convicted under the FACE Act

President Donald Trump is expected to pardon pro-life activists convicted under the FACE Act in the coming days under President Biden’s administration.

The pardon, first reported by the Daily Wire, applies to activists convicted of protesting near abortion clinics during various demonstrations. The details and scope of the pardon have not yet been disclosed.

Thomas Ciesielka, a spokesperson for the pro-life law firm Thomas Moore Society, confirmed the pardon plan to Fox News Digital.

News of the plan was announced just a day before the March for Life, an annual pro-life march in Washington, DC.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) has been asking President Trump to pardon activists convicted under the FACE Act since Trump was sworn into office.

“No administration in history has targeted Christians more than the Biden administration, with one persecution after another, from church closures during the coronavirus pandemic to dawn raids on the homes of pro-life advocates. All pro-life prisoners should be pardoned,” Hawley wrote to X.

Hawley said he spoke with Trump about a possible pardon plan Thursday morning and had a “great conversation.”

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) also introduced a bill to repeal the FACE Act. Many lawmakers say the Democratic administration is using it as a weapon against pro-life groups and Christians.

“97% of FACE Act prosecutions between 1994 and 2024 were initiated against pro-life Americans. It is laughable to claim that the law has not been weaponized. Let’s put HR 589 on the president’s desk and end this once and for all,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) said in a statement reacting to the news of the pardon. .

President Trump also granted blanket pardons to nearly all inmates on January 6, shortly after taking the oath of office.
