Former President Joe Biden halted his re-election bid a year ago on Monday, ending his more than 50 years of politics and shaking the Democrats.
On July 21, 2024, days after President Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination, Biden ended his reelection campaign amid increasing pressure from within his own party.

The unprecedented announcement came as more and more Democrats began publicly calling Biden aside, and party leaders reportedly were engaged in an effort to convince the 81-year-old Biden.

Questions about Biden’s viability at the top of 2024 tickets began to permeate mainstream after the delivery of his suspension and the nasty answers were fully exhibited for national audiences during the June 2024 presidential debate with Trump in Atlanta.

The performance sparked widespread panic among Democrats, almost immediately driving calls from political experts, editorial writers and some party donors to set aside as the party’s 2024 standard rep.
As Biden struggled to get his foothold back, more and more House Democrats urged the president to end his reelection bid.
Biden was huddled with worrying Democrats, including governor and Congress leaders, after a debate blunder, and was engaged in “working over the phone,” according to campaign officials.
Biden began his week of withdrawal with a rebellious attitude, telling Congressional Democrats that he was opposed to Trump and committed to beat-beat hits. Biden also urged lawmakers to stop focusing on debate and end his call for retreat.
Biden followed suit in a call with members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and also won the support of members of the Congress’ Hispanic Caucus.

However, concerns have been set and strengthened. Democrats met behind closed doors in hopes of coming to the consensus and supporting the president, but some were hesitant.
The Biden Campaign met with Senate Democrats at Capitol Hill and for several days, the White House, the Biden Campaign and the president himself said Biden was not planning on dropping out of the race.
At the time, White House press secretary, Carine Jean Pierre, told reporters he had not considered the president’s dropout.
Additionally, Principal Biden Campaign Manager Quentin Flux stressed, “The President is in this race. He is a Democratic candidate.”

The day after the presidential debate, Biden admitted at a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, “I know I’m not a young man, I’ll say the obvious things.”
Upon suspending the campaign, Biden quickly approved Vice President Kamala Harris, robbing him of his spot at the top of the ticket. She received the party’s presidential candidate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago weeks later.
Months later, Trump defeated Harris with a stunning landslide victory, wiping out all swing states, and won not only in the electoral college but also in the popularity polls.
Democrats are still working on Biden’s withdrawal a year later and are looking for a new standard representative, but the former president and his team are falling into investigations by both executive and legislative departments.

In May, the audio was leaked from an interview with former Biden special advisor, Robert Huar. The president showed he was suffering from important memories, including why he classified documents that he shouldn’t have when his son Beau passed away and when he left the vice president.
The audio was leaked after more than a year after the former president’s memory expired and a question about mental vision demanding that release.
Meanwhile, the White House Lawyer’s Office and the Department of Justice are investigating Biden’s use of an autopen and whether the signature was printed at his direction or at the discretion of senior staff.
Autoopen is a machine that features programming that physically holds the pen and mimics a person’s signature. Unlike signature stamps and digitized prints, Autoopen has the ability to hold different types of pens, from ballpoints to permanent markers, as described in the available autopen machine.

Biden used an autopen to sign numerous documents during his tenure. He also signed a final pardon, including members of his family, Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Millie, and a final pardon that includes members and staff of the House Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol Riots. He signed only one pardon for his son, Hunter.

In his final weeks of office, Biden has admitted generosity and has allowed more than 1,500 individuals. The White House then described it as the biggest day-long act by the US president.
On Capitol Hill, the House Oversight Committee has concealed Biden’s decline in mental health, summoned many former Biden officials for testimony, and the Senate sub-cometie on the investigation is calling for NARA records on the decline in Biden’s mental and physical health.
