First Fox: Former Vice President Mike Pence’s nonprofit conservative coalition, Americans Advance Liberty (AAF), is urging House Republicans to “end weaponization” of Clinton-era law.
In May 1994, then President Bill Clinton signed the law to the Freedom of Access to the Clinic Entrance (FACE) Act. Face Act became a federal crime that used force, threat, or obstruction to seek or interfere with access to a clinic, or to prevent individuals seeking or using violence against patients or clinical workers from obstructing facilities.
In one of his first actions since taking office, President Donald Trump has forgiven nearly 20 pro-life activists who served multiple years in prison to attend the 2020 pro-life demonstrations at abortion clinics. Three of them were elderly. The Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) had accused him of violating his face. In his pardon, Trump said supporters “should not have been charged.”

“Congress must do its part in supporting President Trump’s efforts to end the weaponization of the government by completely abolishing the face,” reads an AAF memo sent to Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday afternoon. “There is no doubt that the Biden administration has weaponized facial action against life-based Americans.”
“During the Biden administration, life support Americans faced suspicions of early morning attacks on SWAT teams, unfair prison sentences and abuse in custody,” the memo continues.
Last month, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Surveillance held a hearing titled “Entering a Golden Age: Ending the Department of Justice’s weaponization.” Here, Peter Breen, executive vice president and litigation director of Thomas More Society, a Christian nonprofit law firm, testified that one of his clients was subject to such SWAT attacks and long prison sentences.
The lawyers will be face-to-face in a “systematic campaign” to incarcerate biology activists to incarcerate Biden DOJ’s weaponized facial laws.

“While Biden DOJ engaged in a systematic campaign to abuse federal power against pro-life supporters, the same DOJ ignored hundreds of acts of vandalism and violence against the Life Support Church, Pregnancy Aid Center and other supporters,” Breen said.

The tide is heading in a different direction than the previous administration’s pro-aboration agenda, but conservative lawmakers now see facial acts as the next step in the life support movement. In January, Trump also revoked two previous executive orders from the Biden administration, which expanded abortion services. The new order reaffirms the policies established by the Hyde Amendment and prohibits the use of federal taxpayer dollars for elective abortion.
R-Texas Rep. Chip Roy reintroduced the law, which was reintroduced in January almost simultaneously, in order to repeal the law.
Roy’s Office presented data showing that between 1994 and 2024, 97% of facial prosecutions targeted individuals in the life system. He is supported by 32 co-sponsors in the effort, with Senator Mike Lee from R-Utah introducing fellow laws in the Senate.

In 2023, several media outlets reported that under the Biden administration, the DOJ has launched at least 15 criminal cases under the facial laws involving around 46 life victims since January 2021, with victims of all but one of the cases being advocates of abortion rights.
