EXCLUSIVE: The House is scheduled to vote next week on a bill that would require the deportation of undocumented immigrants found guilty of sex crimes.
Just days ago, the bill received enthusiastic support from billionaire Elon Musk, who criticized Democrats who had previously opposed it.
The Illegal Alien Violence Against Women Act was first introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace, R.S.C., last year and passed the House with bipartisan support. All Republicans and 51 House Democrats voted in favor of the bill.

But the bill was not taken up in the previously Democratic-controlled Senate, so Mace reintroduced it on Friday, restarting the process in the new 119th Congress.
“Let’s get this bill passed in both houses of Congress,” Mace posted on social media over the weekend.
House Republican leaders plan to hold a second vote next week, days before President-elect Trump’s inauguration, two sources told Fox News Digital.
It is one of several border security and other conservative policy bills introduced by House Republicans on Friday, the first day of the 119th Congress.

Over the weekend, Musk called on his Democratic challenger, who voted against the bill in September.
“There is no excuse. Please post a list of people who oppose this law and want to keep illegal aliens convicted of sex crimes in the United States,” Musk said while discussing the bill. I wrote to X in response to a conservative influencer. “We need to vote them all out of office. All of them.”
After Republicans retained control of the House of Representatives in the November elections and also took control of the White House and the Senate, Republicans have signaled they will waste no time enacting their agenda.

In addition to Mace’s revival of the bill, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) also launched their own version of the bill, which passed the House last year but never got a vote in the Senate. The bill was reintroduced.
Mr. Roy has proposed a bill that would require proof of citizenship during the voter registration process, while Mr. Collins would require state and local governments to detain undocumented immigrants who commit shoplifting and other theft-related crimes. He is leading a bill that would direct federal immigration authorities. Law.
The latter bill is expected to be voted on again in the House this week.
