Losing everything to Etonfire, the Altadena family discovers that precious memorabilia from the childhood of adult children survived a devastating flame.
Three bottles miraculously survived the fire, including drawings from the Osborne brothers’ childhood from childhood, photographs, school assignments, letters to Santa and other memorabilia.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers made an incredible discovery while performing debris removal at their Mount Curve Avenue home. While working on the facility and digging into the dirt, they found a bottle in the basement of the house.
“I basically started to walk through it and each one and strip my way… just an incredible gift,” said Aaron Osborn, the father of the children that Bin belonged to.
Osborne children are now 20 and 22 years old, so the inspiring memorabilia are around 10-15 years old. He and his loved ones said they were shocked when they learned that Bin had survived.
“It’s just a gift,” he said.
While the Osbornes rebuild and recover from their defeat, Aaron said they plan to hold a gallery featuring sweet memorabilia.
“It’s funny because I think you’re a memory, they overflow you,” he said. “They are just a little portal of this incredible life you had together in this house and let us know that it will continue. The house may not be there, but our memories and we are family and what matters.
