Border Emperor Tom Homan has denounced lawmakers for criticizing the terms of the country’s latest detention center, “Crocodile Alcatraz,” while remaining “silenced” about immigrant deaths under former President Joe Biden.
To stop the escape, the Wannial Catraz, built in a crocodile-filled swamp of the Florida Everglades, was scrutinized for its conditions, remote locations and potential environmental impacts. Critics have questioned whether the site is safe, humane or appropriate for long-term detention.
However, Homan said the center still meets guidelines under US immigration and customs enforcement, maintaining the industry’s “highest” standards.
“Detainees complain about the conditions of detention,” Homan said on Sunday when he appeared on CNN’s “Confederation Status.” “You can simply go to Ice.gov and see the detention standards Ice has. They have the highest detention standards in the industry, but these same lawmakers complain about “Wannial Cutraz.” ”

Homan argued that lawmakers condemning the facility were significantly absent when immigrant deaths surged under the Biden administration.
According to US customs and border security data obtained by Fox News, 856 migrants died in 2022 as they tried to cross the southern border.
“You didn’t complain about people being held under the Biden administration in fences and swell-wide Border Patrol parking lots,” Homan said. “They ignored four years of open borders, historic immigrant deaths, historic Americans dying in fentanyl, and the historic numbers of women and children being sex trafficked.”
Trump says the only way out of “Algater Alcatraz” is to exile
On July 1, 2025, beds will be found inside an immigration detention center called “Alligator Alcatraz” at the Dade Carrier Training and Transition Airport.
The border emperor claimed that half a million children had been trafficked by the country during Biden’s presidency — he argued that the crisis he said had not been much criticized — and that the administration did more to find those children under President Donald Trump.
“You haven’t heard the words of half a million children being trafficked in the country. “In this administration, President Trump has found thousands of children.”

Homan said lawmakers who did not promote stronger border security were “silent” because they were “conspired” amid the crisis unfolding under the Biden administration.

“Without border security, we cannot have strong national security in this country,” Homan said. “We came to know who was coming, what was coming, where it was coming, but instead they remained silent and continued to feed the American people.”
