The Ronald Reaganville, downtown in Washington, DC, will undergo a dramatic change as US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) takes over the long-standing headquarters of the International Development Agency (USAID), Fox News Digital confirmed.

“CBP has signed a license agreement to occupy approximately 390,000 square feet at USAID Tower,” a CBP spokesman told Fox News Digital.

The news, originally reported by Politico, comes after a federal judge refused to maintain the temporary block that has prevented President Donald Trump from eliminating everything except a small number of USAID staff. A dramatic cut to the federal sector, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Decades ago, the foreign aid agency, USAID, was one of the first goals for a cut by the new administration, sparking a lawsuit filed by a union representing federal workers in an attempt to block layoffs.

The lawsuit accused the Trump administration of stalling medical evacuations for USAID staff and overseas families, cutting off contractors from emergency communications, but also challenging the administration’s sudden cuts.

“The agency is still standing now,” US District Judge Carl Nichols wrote in the ruling. “And the alleged injuries that the plaintiff relies essentially on seeking a flow of injunctive relief from his existing employment relationship with USAID.”

With dramatic staffing cuts and years of loss of headquarters, questions remain about USAID’s future and its mission. Earlier this month, the Department of State announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been appointed acting manager for the agency, looking at the possibility of reorganizing activities under the Department.

“The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has long stumbled from its original mission to responsibly advance US interests overseas. At present, a key part of USAID funding is in line with the core US interests. It is abundantly clear that there is no such thing as “The State Department said in a statement. “As it evaluates the USAID and confirms it is consistent with the US initial agenda and the efforts of the State Department, it protects the interests of Americans. Keep doing it and make sure your taxes aren’t wasted.”
