Border Patrol agents accused of assaulting police officers in Long Beach and entering a woman’s toilet

US customs and border security agents face felony charges in Los Angeles County courtrooms for assaulting a Long Beach police officer and resisting arrest while armed with a handgun issued by the department.

Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, 29, faces four felony and three misdemeanor charges related to the incident that took place in Shoreline Village on Monday.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Hodgson was drunk inside the restaurant as he chased the woman. The woman warned the restaurant management and reported that Hodgson’s firearms and magazines were visible.

He soon escaped from the restaurant and faced a security guard who saw a federal agent carrying his magazine holding his hand. The guard repeatedly asked him to leave, the DA’s office says.

The Long Beach Police Department was eventually called to the scene, and officers approached Hodgson in the parking lot.

“When they arrived, they reportedly observed that Hodgson was drunk and didn’t want to cooperate with their orders when he tried to restrain him,” a release from the DA’s office state. “It is said that Hodgson resisted arrest, and he was upset and physical with the officers, causing one of them to injure.”

He was eventually arrested and released, making his first appearance on Friday.

He is charged with three felony counts of resisting arrest, one felony battery against an officer and three misdemeanor gun charges.

If convicted, he could face up to seven years in a state prison.

District Attorney Nathan Hochman called Hodgson’s suspected behavior “unacceptable and deeply troublesome.”

“No one is beyond the law, regardless of their position or badge,” Hochman said. “Law enforcement officers are always responsible for acting with integrity and professionalism. Our office will pursue prosecution accordingly, so that justice is provided.”

Hodgson is due to return to court on July 17th, and is prohibited from owning a firearm or leaving California, and must attend at least three alcohol counseling meetings as a condition for his release.
