The robbery at the home of actor Brad Pitt was being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD confirmed that there was an actual break-in at Ross Ferris’ home around 10:30pm on Wednesday, but did not say who lives or owns the property.
Sources say Pitt, who is on a promotional tour for the film “Formula One,” was not home at the time of the crime.
Sources say investigators are searching for three suspects.
The robber took an unknown amount of other property, but the value of the items was not immediately revealed.
Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, was targeted for a crime last month where a man allegedly plunged into a car through the front gate of actress Bel Air’s home.
Los Angeles has been concerned in recent years about the trends of robbery of celebrities and invading several homes.
Recently, the home of actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban were robbed on Valentine’s Day after the homes of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson of this year’s Pacific Parisades broke in August last year.
