In a surprising announcement, Gov. Gavin Newsom said on a podcast on Tuesday that Lyle and Eric Menendez will appear before the parole committee in three months, TMZ reported.
News of the brothers’ June 13 hearing says he has repeatedly supported the pair’s resentment, claiming Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman held a press conference earlier this week, claiming he repeatedly lied about why he killed his parents at his Beverly Hills home in 1989.
Newsom recently oversaw the California parole board and assessed whether Lyle and Erik, now 57 and 54, would pose a risk to public safety if released from prison. The DA’s office is informally requesting that the court reject a habeas-protection petition. Ensureding is the third means of freedom.

Hochman previously said he would oppose a new trial for his brother, who is serving life sentences for the murders of his parents, Jose and Kitty. The brothers were 21 and 18 at the time of the murder.

The brothers’ resentment hearings are scheduled for March 20th and 21st.
Appearing in June before the Parole Board is that if Lyle and Erik do not receive a lightweight sentence during the March res hearing, which is set freely based on time, after reviewing the Parole Board risk assessment, they can decide to give them tolerance in their case.
According to TMZ, the governor added that the brothers’ risk assessment will also be sent to Judge Res Tinsing.
