Don’t call it a comeback: Burbank’s Sears seems to be out… Again.
At least according to a list posted on online job posting boards, the one-time mega-shopping centre brand appears to be closing its stores within the Burbank Town Center.
One of the lists posted to Brasling is looking for employees in the back room/stock room to help with receiving in stores that will close soon, organizing the back room, and fulfilling orders. According to the job listing, the store is Sears, Burbank. The post was first flagged by YouTuber Chris Cronin.

The potential closure of Sears Store shows the latest failure of the brand that once fought. This resumed the previous Anchor Store at Burbank Mall with Little Fanfare in late 2023.
A Reddit user who previously described the store as “sad” as reappearance, said he was not surprised that the store was scheduled to close.
When Sears reopened for the third time in Burbank’s town centre, shoppers were greeted by empty corridors, sparsely lined shelves and limited products. The store revival appears to have been short-lived.
Currently, there are three existing Sears stores in California, including Burbank. One of the Whittiers is scheduled to close this summer. Another person in Concord could be left open a little longer.
Puerto Rico’s last Sears also appears to be closing this summer.
The online blog tracking Sears Closures lists two locations in Florida. The commercial real estate website Costar says these two Florida locations don’t seem to be long in this world either and could be redeveloped.
KTLA contacted Sears’ new parent company, Transformco, to confirm the store’s closure. I’m waiting for confirmation.
