The Bass Family has signed an agreement to sell Mark Walter, the CEO of TWG Global and owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The transaction, originally reported by ESPN, has a valuation of around $10 billion.
After the death of her father, Dr. Jerry Bass, Jeannie Bass, took over the Lakers, will continue to serve as the team’s governor after sales.
The Bass Family has owned the Lakers since 1979.
Magic Johnson, who led the Lakers’ “Showtime” era, took him to social media and said Laker fans should “e-e-e” about the new ownership.
“(Mark Walter) is driven by victory, excellence and doing everything the right way. And he puts in the resources he needs to win!” Johnson said.
Laker fans should be straddling. A few things I can tell you about Mark – he is driven to victory, excellence and do everything the right way. And he puts in the resources he needs to win! I understand why Johnny sold his team to Mark Walter.
