First on FOX: California has agreed to remove the Advanced Clean Fleet (ACF) mission to determine strict emission standards for large rigs following a year-long court battle with anti-regulatory groups led by former Attorney General William Barr.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta and California Air Resources Board (CARB) executive Stephen Cliff agreed to withdraw the ACF order in court documents filed Friday, leading the US Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce (Amfree) to drop legal challenges.

In a document signed by Obama-appointed federal judge Troy Nunley and obtained by Fox News Digital, Cliff and Bonta agreed to present proposals to abolish the ACF requirements at the hearing by October 31st.

The California filing timeline filed an environmental exemption from the Biden administration in 2023, but Amfree initially complained on the ground that Sacramento regulations violated the Clean Air Act because they failed to obtain the exemption.

The regulations have been in effect since 2024, directing trucking companies to quickly transition their fleets from diesel to zero-emission vehicles.

At the time, Barr called the move a “threat to American free enterprise,” suggesting that restrictions could lead to “negative” environmental benefits at best, while causing negative economic consequences.

“The ruling is the last nail in California’s crazy attempt to eliminate the traditional trucking sector and yet another example of Gavin Newsom’s complete failure in California,” said Amfree CEO Gentry Collins.

“Even after Americans voted to take the country in new directions last November, liberal nations like California are obsessed with implementing a green agenda that consumers don’t want and that technology can’t support,” said Collins, former Iowa Attorney General.

“amfree remains vigilant and holds the Blue State to explain the false guided crusades that fly against common sense in the face of consumer choice and freedom, and ensure that they have failed completely like Gavin Newsom, who tries to escape from their liberal records.

The group has established itself as a more free market alternative to the stubborn US Chamber of Commerce in professional business.

Trucking costumes from one major region celebrated the news, telling Fox News Digital that businesses across the country are sharing a reversed California order.

“Here in Alabama and across the United States, we stand up every day to protect our members and to stand up to our failed policies from states like California,” said Mark Colson, CEO of the Alabama Truck Truck Association.

“We are proud to be united with Amfree and our allies on California’s ground to achieve our shared goals and to cries out the economy again.”

The Knicks of Regs are just the latest in some sudden reversals of Green Mandate as Congress overturned at least three Biden-era EPA exemptions and officially granted to California to self-regulate its own emissions standards.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capitto, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, praised the rollback of California’s Clean Car mission for “protecting American workers and consumers from radical and dramatic policies.”

“The effects of California exemptions have been felt nationwide, hurting multiple sectors of our economy, sacrificing hundreds of thousands of jobs in the process,” Moore Capit said.

The Big-Rig regulations required operators of several types of fleets to begin the transition to zero-emission tractor trailers.
