Authorities say the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Tuesday, seeking bribes while working and committed a horror while working.
In June 2024, the Sheriff’s Office received complaints from citizens regarding Deputy Director Cameron Romo, according to a department statement.
Investigators determined that 27-year-old Romo was allegedly committed a criminal act while working at Hesperia Station.
On Monday, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed accusations against Romo in search of fear and bribery, according to the statement.
He was arrested around 8am Tuesday and booked at Central Detention Center in lieu of $90,000 bail.
The District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
Romo joined the Sheriff’s Office in September 2020 and has been working at Hesperia Station since August 2021, officials said.
Anyone with more information about this case will be asked to contact Det. Antonio Alcala at (909) 890-4904.
“This is a shame that the Deputy Sheriff will be engaged in this type of action,” San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dikas said in a statement. “I am proud of all the investigators involved in bringing this case to the district attorney’s office, so he can hold him accountable.”
