First on Fox: The president of Glass House Farms, a cannabis farm that federal immigration officials attacked in California on Thursday despite protests, donated thousands of people to California Democrats.
Graham Farrer, who self-identifies in Santa Barbara, California on social media, self-identifies on social media as a resident of Santa Barbara, California, according to federal election commission records.
According to California’s public campaign finance records, he donated $10,000 to California Democrat Gavin Newsom in 2018, and his most recent public political donation was to California Democrat Greg Hart in July 2023.
Immigration operations on a California cannabis farm lead to clashes between federal agents and protesters
California Gov. Gavin Newsom speaks to reporters after a presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Atlanta on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Rodney Scott tweeted that the farm is “now under investigation for child labor violations,” and the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News on Friday that nine unaccompanied children in the US were illegally rescued.
“We’re glad that our law enforcement agencies were able to save another child,” said DHS Deputy Commissioner Tricia McLaughlin.
Glass House Brands said in a statement that it complied with the federal warrant issued.
“Yesterday, the Glass House brand received an immigration and naturalization warrant. We have confirmed that the warrant is valid according to the law. Workers are being detained and assisted in providing legal representatives,” the company tweeted.

“Glass House has never intentionally violated any applicable employment practices, does not employ minors, nor does it employ minors, and does not believe this will affect future operations.
“We know there are a lot of questions. We have a lot of information too. There’s more information to update. Our team is constantly on the ground and we are focused on caring for our people and plants,” Farrar posted on X.
Farrar’s X-Feed also shows that it will retweet Republicans, including former Congressman Matt Gaetz, in support of cannabis policy reform.

When asked about campaign contributions, Newsom’s senior political advisor Lindsay Covia told Fox News Digital, Lindsay Covia, who was his assistant campaign manager when Newsom received the $10,000 donation. Newsom posted the same message on X, including Instagram photos of Kyle Kazan and Rep. Nancy Mace.
In a Newsom post, he omitted another Instagram photo taken by Kazan along with Rep. Robert Garcia, a Democratic California House of Representatives who Kazan gave thousands of dollars. Earlier this year, Garcia told CNN it was time for him to “bring real weapons” to fight Trump’s management, and he was a critic of the Republican voices.
Newsom’s rapid response team referenced a report from the Los Angeles Times, where Kyle Kazan is gaining attention as a supporter of President Donald Trump. He is labelled as a president’s supporter in comments by Mark Cohord, who invested in the company and opposed the attack.
At the donation level, a review of public records shows that Kazan has made donations to various Democrats in recent years. The most notable recent Republican contribution by the name Kyle Kazan was to former governor candidate Kevin Fallconner in 2021 for $10,000. He also recently made a business contribution of at least $12,500 through the glass house brand, and recently made California ActBlue in June 2024.
On Thursday, protesters clashed with federal authorities in Camarillo during an immigration operation. Fox News knows that federal authorities had warrants against illegal employees. Another attack also occurred at another glasshouse farm in Carpinteria.
Additionally, U.S. Attorney Bill Essaylie for the Central District of California said the FBI offered a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of an unknown suspect who appears to have fired a pistol at a federal law enforcement officer near Camarillo.

“It is becoming increasingly clear that the actions taken by the ice are bold and aggressive, and show insensitivity to the direct impact on our community,” nearby Oxnard mayor Lewis Mc Arthur said in a social media post. “These actions are causing unnecessary pain and harm. I am still committed to working with the Attorney General and the Governor’s Office to explore potential legal paths to addressing these activities.”
When the governor was asked what he thought of footage of someone firing a gun at federal authorities by Tiktok’s right-wing social media account Libs, Newsom said, “Of course I condemn the attack on law enforcement.
“California prosecutes child exploiters and traffickers. It will tear Trump’s tear gas children, parents, and expel farm workers. Priority.”
