Hendrickson said the accident caused several other participants to be injured at an event in Antioch, California. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that one person was hospitalized after losing a finger in an accident.
According to Hendrickson, Harris’ injuries are “superficial” and the running back is expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season.
Former round draft pick Harris spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before signing a one-year contract with the Chargers this offseason. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in the 2021 rookie campaign, covering 1,000 rushing yards in each of the four NFL seasons without missing a game.
Along with signing Harris, the Chargers were added to the backfield by selecting North Carolina to drive back O’Mallion Hampton with their 22nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
