The suspect was arrested on several felonies after being tracked through multiple communities in San Bernardino County, but was arrested before he could go to his girlfriend’s house and kiss her goodbye.
According to Upland Police, around 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers spotted a Chevrolet Tahoe wanted by West Covina authorities on a felony charge of eluding authorities.
The exact location where the vehicle was found in Upland has not been disclosed.

As officers advanced to the back of the Tahoe, the male driver “fled away.” [the police] Lights also came on,” Upland Police said in a post to X.

“Officers pursued the Tahoe to Rancho Cucamonga, where the driver suddenly stopped in the middle of the road,” the post reads. “The driver’s girlfriend then left a nearby house, ran to the car and kissed him goodbye.”

The driver later turned himself in and was taken into custody. Police later discovered he was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said a loaded gun was also found in the car and he was arrested on multiple felonies.

The man’s name has not been released, but authorities posted a photo on social media with his face blurred, as well as a photo of the firearm and the end of the chase.
Further details regarding the pursuit and subsequent arrest were not released.
