Temperatures this Thanksgiving week and weekend look to be much milder across Southern California.
NBC4 Meteorologist Belen de Leon said there was scattered rain Monday, but Tuesday night is the best chance of rain this week. De Leon also said no major flooding problems are expected in the scattered light showers.
In Los Angeles, clouds from the system are expected to persist throughout the week, but should begin to settle in other areas by Wednesday.
Temperatures will warm across the Southern California Valley region by Thanksgiving Thursday, with temperatures in the low 70s, according to NBCLA’s 10-day forecast.
In Los Angeles, “it will be cloudy and dry with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s,” DeLeon said.
By Sunday afternoon, temperatures are expected to return to the mid-70s across Southern California with little cloud cover.
If you are traveling to or through the mountains this week, expect minimal snowfall.
“The amount of snow is so high that we don’t expect any snow to hit the local resorts,” de Leon said.
Holiday travelers heading north to the Bay Area along Highway 5 should expect light rain through Thanksgiving Day. The heaviest of the scattered rain will hit northern Sonoma and Napa counties, according to NBC Bay Area.
Travelers heading east are in luck. Conditions along Highway 15 over the San Gabriel Mountains are expected to be cloudy but dry.
