We’ll talk about a soft and uplifting way to close out the first whole day of spring. The nonprofit that oversees Big Bear’s Bald Eagle Nest Camera, a friend of Big Bear Valley, has revealed that the highly anticipated Chick Naming Contest is currently open.
A dedicated legion of Jackie and Shadow fans, all feather twitches, “Breakfish” delivery, and dedicated followers who eagerly monitor their bait thanks to the nest closure cameras are invited to submit the idea of the names of two bald eagles babies who are currently building homes in the famous nest.
A friend of Big Bear Valley made the presentation on March 21st around 5:30pm.
“Everyone is invited to help two Eagles names Jackie and Shadow!” Trumpeted a social media post.
“Contests to name them are waiting for you online.”
“We have always offered free (and no ads) live streams of Jackie and Shadow’s nested cameras to the public, so we traditionally sought small donations with suggestions for chick names.”
Do you choose meaningful monikers from nature? What is important to you? Joy, future, sky, or a name that speaks to all of the above?
When the contest closes at 11:59pm on March 28th, “The computer will randomly draw a list of finalist names.”
There’s something particularly nice and local here. Like many years of tradition, Big Bear third-year students will make a “final vote.” This will especially sweeten this decision when students around Big Bear learn about Bald Eagles, as they share Grade, Fobbv.
Even sweeter? The kids in the 4th and 5th grade classes in the Big Bear Area will also place emphasis on the chick’s name this time.
“Jackie and Shadow have not had chicks in the last two seasons, so I thought it would be nice for two years third-year students to take part in this naming process.”
“Jackie, Shadow and his family are extremely important and special to the community.”
The name will be announced at some point in early April, so there is a very egg citement.
