First on Fox: China could face crackdowns on US influence on multiple fronts if the new target bill slate is passed.
Senator James Lankford of R-Okla led the introduction of three bills this week aimed at reducing China’s impact. The measure has taken particular action on China’s acquisition of US farmland, predatory investments, and its relationship with US educational institutions.
“China continues to buy American farmland, steal our patents and expand our authoritarian worldview,” Lanxford told Fox News Digital. “America demonstrates our values to the world, maintaining our economic and military strength, ensuring that the planet has the best opportunity for freedom. No one in China should doubt America’s resolve and commitment to freedom.”

Hostile and malicious partnerships in the University and School Act (campus) prohibit collaborative research between US universities and Chinese universities, allowing students to go to schools related to schools related to their military and bar federal funds.
The next bill, known as The Belt & Road Surveillance Act, is designed to monitor predatory lending practices in China and counter economic enforcement. The measure would establish all officers in global embassies accused of tracking investments in critical infrastructure.

The third bill will monitor the purchase of US farmland that could pose a national security threat. The measure, dubbed the Security and Surveillance of the International Land Ownership (Soil) Act, specifically prohibits federal assistance with certain property ownership owned by foreign companies and expands the disclosure requirements for land purchases made by such entities.
Senator Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. co-hosted both campus and soil acts.

The bill targeting China’s impact comes after holding recent nuclear talks with Russia and Iran in Beijing.
A spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the debate was “related to nuclear issues and developments related to lifting sanctions.”

The meeting was disregarded by President Trump earlier in the week. He suggested that our enemies could be talking about “de-escalation.”
“Well, maybe they’re going to talk about the issue of nuclear-freedom. Maybe they’re talking about nuclear de-escalation,” Trump said in his elliptical office.
