Chuck E. Cheese wants to make sure adults are having fun.

According to a news release, the iconic kids arcade chain has announced that it is considering catering to teens and adults by opening Chuck’s arcade locations in eight states.

Chuck’s Arcade features retro favorites such as Mr. Pac-Man, Mortar Combat and Centipede along with new games like Jurassic Park and Hello.

Malls across the country already have Chuck arcade locations, including St. Petersburg, Florida. Trumbull, Connecticut; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Victor, New York. Buford, Georgia. El Paso, Texas. Nashua and Salem, New Hampshire. and St. Louis.

The Kansas City, Missouri location features a full menu and original artwork on the walls. “There’s no exact same location,” the company said.

Chuck E. Cheese is launching Chuck arcade locations in multiple states to attract older audiences.

“Chuck’s arcade is a natural evolution. It’s an opportunity to extend the arcade legacy into a new format that attracts both lifelong fans and new generations through a curated mix of retro classics and cutting-edge experiences.”

Each venue will be “directed” by one of the company’s classic animatronic characters, from Chuck E. Cheese to others on Make’s Believe Band. A video on the company’s website shows a statue of a character wrapped in glass in the middle of the arcade.

According to the company, some locations will also sell clothing, toys and novel candies.

The new location occurs within the ongoing brand of the company that declared bankruptcy in 2020. Corporate restructuring and $350 million investment have created new play areas in e-tickets, adult menu items and hundreds of locations.

In March, it announced that it would remove the iconic animatronic band from its location.

Chuck E. Cheese removes animatronic musicians everywhere except one.

“Of course, when you think about entertainment 47 years ago, it was incredible to have an animatronic band and new music,” McKillips told NBC News at the time. “But in reality, the animatronics were tired.”

“Kids are consuming entertainment on digital platforms,” he added.

The launch of Chuck’s arcade is also a clear push to attract the same adult audience as rival Dave & Busters.
