The most reliable sign that there are every summer in Los Angeles? Nightly barrage of fireworks. But what are the following signs? Outdoor film screenings at a cemetery a century ago. Put them together, there is the perfect summer night recipe.
After returning seasonally on Memorial Day weekend, Cinespia unveiled a selection of classic films heading to Hollywood Forever Cemetery this July. The lineup that dives below features a pair of high-flying action classics, local love letters, semi-generous horror sensations and 90s comedies.
Friday, July 4th: Top Gun + Fireworks
Saturday, July 5th: Lalaland + Fireworks
Saturday, July 12th: That (2017)
Saturday, July 19: Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion
Saturday, July 26th: The Adams family
Tickets for the event announced by Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video are currently on sale, with two firework screenings for under $52 per person, with the rest of the price being around $30, with a price of around $24-36 in car parks. We recommend jumping to the ticket immediately. Cinespia screenings are always sold out.
“Every summer we invite our city to celebrate a film that makes us laugh, dreams, screams,” Cinespia founder John Wyatt said in a statement. “This July is pure cinema magic, from flying action and fireworks to nostalgic reunions and creepy classics under the stars.”
If you have never attended a summer aisle ritual before, here is the contract. Since 2002, Cinespiia has predicted the film on the side of Hollywood spirits us. Thousands of picnickers appear early, gaining a Fairbanks lawn spot and dig into their bio snacks and drinks (yes, including beer and wine). This adds to the hot food, popcorn, beer and wine sold on the outdoor film series premises. The series is also famous for its highly elaborate and film-active photo booths, like this Romy and Michele from 2023 onwards.
For the fireworks show, don’t expect a small portion of Pyro. This is the fourth exhibition at the July fireworks display. Check out the video below for 10 years since the series last followed Top Gun with fireworks.
