Less than a day later, when city workers painted the iconic tunnel in downtown Los Angeles White, the destroyers again tagged them.
The footage posted to Instagram by @graffv1 – known as the “major source of Los Angeles graffiti culture” – shows the aftermath of the “Full Force acquisition” at the second tunnel on Wednesday.
“What was a clean slate at noon would become a living gallery of Street Expression by midnight, filled with signatures of Burners, Rollers and LA’s most famous destroyers,” the Instagram post reads. “The message from the street is clear: Paint [the tunnel] White, and Los Angeles paint it back. ”
It is unclear whether the city will paint the tunnels white again.

Opened in 1924 to ease crowds at the nearby third street tunnel, the second street tunnel is a widely photographed location, especially for car fans and manufacturers. The 2009 Los Angeles Times called it “the most recognisable city landmark that most Americans have never heard of.”
The 2009 article noted that between 2006 and its publication, 73 commercials from the automotive brand were filmed in the tunnels.

It is also used in many films and music videos. Some notable films filmed in the second street tunnel include Blade Runner, The Terminator, Independence Day, and Kill Bill.
Music video enthusiasts may recognize the tunnel from “Iris” by Googoo Dolls, Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” and “Blind Light” by Weekend.
