“Closing Time”: White House, Border Patrol Troll and Overseas Meme Video

The official White House and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) X trolled critics on Monday, posting meme videos showing the deportation of the famous ’90s song “Closing Time,” a long-standing staple at closure bars and weddings.

“It’s closing time. We’re making America safe again,” CBP said in the post.

The video, posted by the White House and US Border Patrol Michael Banks and the Chiefs of Customs and Border Patrol, shows that authorities have bound illegal immigrants to be sung by “Semi-sonic” lead singer Dan Wilson.

The video is then cut and shows Wilson loading illegals into planes for deportation, “I know whoever wants to take me home,” so that the term border patrol is clearly visible.

Since seizing the oval office, President Donald Trump has secured borders and cracked down on illegal immigrants as one of his top priorities. In an interview with CBS in late February, the bank said illegal border crossings had plummeted 94%. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security said last week that immigrants and customs enforcement agencies arrested 33,000 illegal immigrants.

Additionally, a top Trump administration official confirmed to Fox News that a total of 261 illegal aliens were deported to El Salvador on Saturday. 137 was removed via the Alien Enemy Act of 1798, with 101 people being titled 8, 21.

White House press director Karoline Leavitt explained the video at a White House reporter briefing on Monday, saying, “It summarises our immigration policy pretty well. We don’t have to go home, but we can’t stay here.”

“We are not afraid to double and take responsibility and ownership of the serious decisions that are being made, as the White House and our entire government clearly rely on this president’s message,” Leavitt said. “The president was elected on the overwhelming mission of launching the largest massive deportation campaign in American history, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.”

She said Trump has been receiving “overwhelming public support for the policies he is enacting” for more than 50 days in the administration.

“So we’re not afraid to effectively send a message about what the President does every day to make our community safer,” she explained.
