Exclusive: “King Coal” still governs as one of the most affordable, reliable and transportable sources of energy. The US still has a lot of energy. Winter meeting.

Morrisey acknowledged that its ongoing race with America is the most powerful nation in terms of both energy development and AI technology. West Virginia is trying to lead the way on Saturday, he said.

“I’m very excited about a future for coal still,” Morrissey said. “Let me explain why: We are now about to embark on an information technology arms race with China.”

“And we need to keep up with what they’re doing with regard to the use of Chinese coal and many different types of fuel sources., super intelligence, robotics, advanced manufacturing.”

Both countries are likely to rely on advances in nuclear energy and hydraulic fracturing of natural gas, but “coal resilience, availability and affordability” remains, he said.

“I think there will be an opportunity to improve the capacity of coal-fired power plants, which have been slowing down in recent years, because if they don’t, they won’t be competing with the Chinese.”

The governor said one of his top priorities is to bring the Coal infrastructure and industry in the Mountain State back to higher capabilities.

“I think it’s extremely necessary from a national security perspective.”

West Virginia produced 89 million tonnes of coal in 2021, according to the latest data recorded by the state miner’s office. That figure averaged over 130 million tonnes of tonnes per year from the 1940s to the late 1990s.

Wyoming is the leading US coal producer, followed by West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Illinois.

“West Virginia is an American energy nation. We have many opportunities in front of us: coal, natural gas and water,” Morisei continues, and he is a substantial bipartisan debate. He added that he is truly in his heart. The NGA is concerned with speeding up the process of allowing energy at the state and federal levels.

“So when you’re thinking about ways to take advantage of those opportunities, you think of communication and you think of allowing,” he said. It’s a delay, or if things go wrong.

Regarding the role of mountain states in what NGA’s Morrisey and other governors called “AI Arms Race” with China, the state is predicted to be built on current people, Morrisey’s predecessors. . Jim Justice’s efforts to grow the state’s tech industry.

“I have said many times that we need to do everything possible to add these types of tech companies and jobs in West Virginia,” Justice said in 2019. And who fills these spots, it’s really a talent pipeline. ”

On Saturday, Morrissey also reflected on group meetings with President Donald Trump, his Cabinet Secretary and fellow White House governors.

“They understand that you can’t move energy at a slower rate, so we want to partner with them,” he said. His administration adds.

“I think states like many other states, such as West Virginia and Pennsylvania, have the opportunity to work closely with the Trump administration. I know how important it is to reassert American energy control. It’s going to be much easier. Right.

Morrissey also spoke about his response to the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration and the flow of illegal drugs across the southern border.

Last month, Morrisey issued an executive order aimed at illegal immigration in his state, detaining five dozen people pending verification of immigration status in the state’s community prison system.

The governor said that West Virginia’s unfortunate location is a nation’s unfortunate location, which is per capita drug overdose deaths, and that he and Trump’s immigration policy should be corrected. He said both are needed.

“We are working with Ice to identify illegal aliens and make sure they are deported. And this is really important. System, you’re going to reduce crime. I’ll see it.”

“We need a state to work with the federal government to reaffirm our position and ensure that we can stop all the horrific consequences of what happened with the coming of illegal immigration. West Virginia So we know we really felt the impact of it: the massive deaths that flowed from the fentanyl flood.[ing] From China [via] Mexican drug cartel. ”
