It’s been just over a week since Tesla Diner opened in Hollywood, but futuristic restaurants and supercharger stations are already full of complaints, protests and now litigation possibilities.
KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos spoke with customers who are happy to find a place to charge Teslas on Tuesday morning, but admits that the new convenience is creating gridlocks in the area.
“I was excited because I could charge my car, but yeah, it was insane… traffic was insane,” said Tyrone Brown, who lives in the area.
Others call the car lines on Santa Monica Boulevard and surrounding streets a safety hazard.
On Monday, TMZ reported that the covers in the rooftop patio area were loose and attacked a woman in her head.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the appeal of a 21-year-old woman complaining of injuries. The patient refused to transport the patient to a local hospital and told the respondent he would go on his own. According to TMZ, the family is planning to file a lawsuit against Tesla over the case.
And over the weekend, demonstrators gathered outside the location for two nights to protest Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration. Several protesters said the community was not supporting Musk.

Meanwhile, the business appears to be booming at diners, with customers lined up again for chargers and breakfast on Tuesday morning.
Some customers told KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos that they are particularly looking forward to ordering the smash burger, biscuits and gravy.
