Investigators say the mother and daughter, who were killed near a school in Compton this week, were shot dead by her mother’s ex-boyfriend.
Donte Lamont Brown, 41, is the “estranged boyfriend” of Lavon Hall, 45, who passed away with her 22-year-old daughter, Malaysia Martin on Tuesday night.
The two were found on and near the vehicle at the intersection of Caldwell Street and South Central Avenue Tuesday evening.
Donte Brown is shown in a 2022 image from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said Brown ran along with the victim’s vehicle, located at Stoplight and fired fire before fleeing south on South Central Avenue.
Hall was able to leave the vehicle before succumbing to her wounds, but it turns out that Martin doesn’t respond inside the vehicle. Both were declared dead at the scene.
Investigators add that they “tired all the leads,” and are asking for the help of the public to find Brown, who frequently believes in Compton and Long Beach. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information will be asked to call the LASD Murder Bureau at 323-890-5500.
