A supplementary service is scheduled for Thursday in honor of the deputy director of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and honoring his death in the crash.
Deputy Hector Kuevas Jr. was killed on March 17th due to a crash at the Victorville intersection. A crash in the High Desert San Bernardino County community occurred during the pursuit.
His funeral is scheduled for 11am.

“He was a police officer,” Sheriff Shannon Dikas said. “It’s like a law enforcement officer we all strive for. For a moment, you can interact with hardened gang members and reassure a frightened child as follows.”
The video shows two patrol SUV splits scattered near the intersection of Seneca and Hervead roads, and shards. The black sedan at the intersection appeared to have damaged the front-end with airbags deployed inside the car.
The suspect, 22-year-old Ryan Dwayne Turner Jr., who is currently being pursued, was charged with two-degree murder, law enforcement and vehicle manslaughter while drunk.
A procession of law enforcement officers escorted the bodies to the coroner’s office in San Bernardino. The queue passed through the parking lot at the Victorville Police Station, about a mile east of the collision.
Firefighters on top of the two fire trucks parked on the elevated highway in honor as the procession passed.
Victorville has a contract with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office of Police Services.
