Critics of President Donald Trump have waste no time denounced the National Weather Service (NWS) personnel delivery due to the widespread death and destruction caused by floods in Texas.

At least 59 people, including 21 children, have been confirmed to have died in flash floods along the Guadalupe River that began Friday. Eleven children and one counselor remained missing from the girl’s summer camp near the river, flooded due to the remains of Barry in a tropical storm. The storm landed in Mexico, but caused a massive, unexpected thunderstorm in parts of Texas.

“It only took nine days to cut cards. [National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] To kill dozens of children in Texas when Tropical Stormbury lands this week,” Grant Stern, executive editor of the Occupation Democrats, wrote in X.

“The Texans voted for the government services managed by Donald Trump and Greg Abbott,” added Ron Filipkowski, a former federal prosecutor and editor-in-chief of Mediastouchnews. “That’s exactly what they (sic) get.”

“What happened to the girls at Camp Mystic was a warning that John Morales, one of the nation’s finest meteorologists, would happen,” added Rachel Bitcofer, assistant director of the Wasson Public Policy Center at Christopher Newport University. “NOAA & NWS’ Trump cuts have had a significant impact on forecasts for storms across the country.”

Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem held a press conference on Saturday to acknowledge some of the criticisms surrounding the country’s flood notification system. This included concerns that weather forecasts underestimated the amount of rain that ultimately decreased.

Noem said the Trump administration is “now upgrading” the country’s flood notification technology.

“when [weather] The system came to the area and it got stuck, Noem said at a press conference. [what] We’ve experienced [Hurricane] Harvey could not predict in the same type of system, reacting here in a stopped way, and discarding the unprecedented amount of rain that caused such flood events. ”

Tom Fahy, Legislative Director for the National Weather Service Employing Organization, told NBC News that the weather forecasting office was properly staffed and “issued timely forecasts and warnings leading up to the storm,” but he added that it was “clearly a concern.”

“The reason Trump returned the National Weather Service, which led to the death of all girls in floods in Texas, was because he believed Project 2025 was tied to evidence of climate change,” musician Mikel Jollett wrote in X.

The White House claims FEMA is taking hurricane season seriously.

Isaiah Martin, the Democratic candidate for Texas’ 18th Congressional District, called for an immediate Congress investigation into “Republican Doji cuts NOAA and the National Weather Service.”

“This weekend we saw emotion (sic),” Martin wrote to X.

While the government of Washington Democrat Jay Inslee did not directly condemn his approach to climate change to Trump’s death, he suggested that the president’s efforts to strip green energy funds, like the floods in Texas, are factors that contribute to an increase in catastrophic natural disasters.

“It’s hard to exacerbate the tragedy of the floods in Texas, but I know Trump has signed up for Bill Crater Solar and Wind Energy, which are essential to the fight against climate change.

In an interview with CNN, D-Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro added that he doesn’t think it’s helpful to have an open leadership position “helps prevent these strategies.”

“I don’t think it’s helpful to have no key personnel from the National Weather Service to prevent these tragedies,” Castro said, adding, “We have to figure out how we will understand in the future that it will never happen again.”

White House spokesman Abigail Jackson called it “shameful and nasty” to see people politicized what happened in the wake of this tragedy.

“In the wake of the tragedy, I’m tired of shame that the first instinct of the Left is to lie and politicize disasters to target political opponents. False claims about the NW have been repeatedly exposed by public reports from meteorologists, experts and others,” Jackson said. “The NWS went to work and issued flood monitoring more than 12 hours ago. The Trump administration thanked the first responders who took action to save hundreds of lives during this catastrophe and will continue to help Texas great state with their recovery efforts.”

Alexandra Koch of Fox News contributed to this report.
