Andrew Cuomo dodged questions about allegations of sexual harassment against him through the New York City mayor’s discussion on Wednesday evening.
“Every woman watching tonight should listen now,” said Michael Blake, a former state legislator in the Bronx, running to Cuomo. “Andrew Cuomo didn’t respond when there was an opportunity for sexual harassment — all the women he’s watching tonight — he was given the opportunity to actually deal with the clear claims that were stated, and he ignored them.”
Cuomo was accused of multiple cases of sexual harassment that led to his resignation as governor in 2021. A subsequent report from New York Attorney General Leticia James confirmed that Cuomo “sexually harassed multiple women from 2013 to 2020.
However, no criminal charges have been filed against Cuomo, and some district attorneys have cited insufficient evidence.

“The ones who feel safe are the young women, mothers and grandmothers around Andrew Cuomo,” Blake added in criticism of Cuomo during Wednesday night’s debate. “It is the biggest threat to public safety in New York City.”
Cuomo was given multiple opportunities to address the allegations, but frequently avoided questions about the issue by pivoting to other issues, such as public safety.
However, Cuomo’s enemies and moderators did not let him escape without being involved in the questioning.

“Mr Cuomo. Sorry. I’m sure people at home should question your answer to this question because we’re talking to voters across the city so a fair number of them will say, I don’t know exactly what happened in those sexual harassment cases.” “What do you say to voters looking forward to your potential mayor now? Are you doing something different? And why should they believe that the same situation never happens again?”
In response, Cuomo dealt with the question, but claimed that the allegations against him were “political” and “false.”

“Let’s make sure there are facts,” Cuomo fired back. “There was a report about making certain allegations four years ago. At the time, they said it was political and false. Democrats, Republicans, short, tall, looking at it statewide, nothing was found at all. One case was resolved.
